Fiat Chrysler this week halted orders of the 2017 Dodge Viper as it determines how many more examples of the sportscar its Conner Avenue Assembly plant in Detroit is capable is building before it closes in early 2017.
If you’re looking to get your hands on a Viper before the 8.4-liter V10 sportscar is gone forever, now’s your chance. A North Carolina-based Dodge dealership placed an order for 135 Vipers this month, which ought to keep the Conner Avenue plant quite busy, and other big Viper dealers such as Viper Exchange have a handful of new Vipers in stock as well.
Once the Viper’s gone, Conner Avenue will close for good. FCA last year shot a video tour of the plant whilst the plant was producing the 2016 model-year Dodge Viper, which we’ve embedded above. We figured now would be a good time to share the video, as both Conner Avenue and the Viper will cease to exist in few short months.
