We’ve talked at length about the Dodge Viper’s nasty, unforgiving nature, which is just one of the many things that makes it entirely inappropriate for a teen driver.
The Viper’s notorious reputation is what makes it so entertaining that AutoTrader writer Doug Demuro got a ‘Teen Driver’ plate put on his 1998 Viper- and in case you’re wondering, no, Demuro is not a teenager.
‘So if his age doesn’t begin with a ‘1’, how did Demuro get a ‘Teen Driver’ plate’, you might ask. Well, it turns out that you don’t actually have to be a teenager to receive Pennsylvania’s ‘teen driver’ plates, all you have to do is ask for them. So he did.
If you spot a white on blue 1998 model-year Viper out and about in Pennsylvania with ‘teen driver’ plates, don’t be scared. It’s not an inexperienced driver behind the wheel of one of the world’s most raw sportscars, but simply an automotive journalist with an odd sense of humor. We applaud you for it, Doug.
