Just 100 units of the 2017 Dodge Viper GTS-R Commemorative Edition ACR are to be built and as far as we know, all of them have been spoken for. That means you probably won’t be able to get your hands on the limited edition blue-on-white Viper, however Mecum Auctions has an even better alternative.
What you see here is a one-owner 1998 Dodge Viper GTS-R with just 615-miles on the odometer. As you may already know, the 1998 GTS-R was built to mark 1997 FIA GT2 World Championship and was limited to just 100 cars. The 2017 GTS-R Commemorative Edition ACR is a homage to the original and great as it may be, there’s nothing quite like the real thing.
We’d be surprised to learn of a 1998 Viper GTS-R more pristine than this one. Mecum says the car, which is No. 91 of 100 produced, was garage kept since new and has been “driven very sparingly.” It appears just as it did when it left Nelson Auto Group in Marysville, Ohio nearly 20 years ago and comes with the original window sticker. There’s even the original plastic over the seatbelts and shift knob.
Check out the listing at this link for additional information and photos. The car will go under the gavel at Mecum’s Kissimmee 2017 auction in early January.
