Fiat Chrysler’s signature pocket-rocket is currently the Fiat 500 Abarth, but before the Italian hot hatch broke onto the scene, FCA attracted enthusiasts of compact performance with the Neon SRT4.
While the Neon was never lauded for its speed or handling prowess, Dodge actually transformed the four-door economy car into quite the performance offering in SRT form. The car produced a healthy 230 horsepower from its 2.4-liter turbocharged engine and featured beefed up suspension components, making it rather adept both at the road course and the drag strip.
The Smoking tire’s Matt Farah recently met up with a viewer to sample his Neon SRT 4. The owner in this case has owned his 2005 model year car since it was new and has applied some minor upgrades over that time including a larger turbocharger. Hear what Farah has to say about the fastest production Neon ever by watching the video above.
