Fiat Chrysler this week debuted the Ram 1200 for the Middle East, a rebadged version of the compact Fiat Fullback pickup, which is itself a rebadge of the Mitsubishi L200.
We’ve asked in the past if the Fiat Fullback would work as a Ram pickup, but the intro of the Ram 1200 shows FCA was way ahead of us. Now that such a product exists, we’d like to know if you think it’d work stateside.
The Ram 1200 is available with a 2.4-liter gasoline engine or 2.5-liter diesel and comes with a six-speed manual transmission or an optional five-speed automatic. The pickup also boasts an adequate payload of 2,425 lbs – plenty to satisfy most consumers.
It’s unlikely the Ram 1200 will ever reach North American shores, but its existence proves Ram has no qualms about putting its badge on a smaller pickup in 2016. If Ram does decide to introduce a small pickup, it would also have the Fiat Toro platform to pull from, or the upcoming Wrangler pickup’s.
