When Alfa Romeo pulled the wraps off the 2017 Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio Verde last year, it claimed the high-performance four-door had lapped the Nurburgring in a jaw-dropping 7 minutes and 39 seconds. The automaker’s now released video of the record-breaking lap, and it turns out the Giulia went even faster than that.
In the hands of Alfa Romeo test driver Fabio Francia, the 505 horsepower Giulia QV lapped the Nordschleife circuit at the ‘Ring in a stunning 7 minutes and 32 seconds. By comparison, the 420 horspower BMW M4 lapped the circuit in 7 minutes and 52 seconds. The Ferrari 458 Italia did the feat in 7 minutes and 28 seconds, just four seconds faster than the Alfa.
We always believed the Giulia QV was going to be the fastest luxury compact around the Green Hell, but we were waiting for the onboard video before handing the automaker tour official congratulations. Check it out above and prepare to be amazed. And probably scared.
