Ram shocked truck enthusiasts attending this year’s State Fair of Texas when it debuted the wild Ram Rebel TRX concept at the event this week. The 575 horsepower truck is the most powerful half-ton Ram has ever built and from a styling and off-road performance standpoint, the most extreme as well.
The Rebel TRX features a supercharged 575 horsepower 6.2-liter HEMI V8, an eight-speed automatic transmission, a BorgWarner 44-45 transfer case, four traction management settings, wider front and rear tracks, Mopar beadlock wheels with meaty 37-inch tires, Baer six-piston brakes at all four corners and an electric rear locker with a 35 spline axle.
From a styling standpoint, it’s set apart by its scooped hood (which helps to cool the supercharged engine), composite fender flares, a lower brush guard, five-inch side exit exhaust ports, full length rock rails and a ustom rear steel bumper with integrated skid plate and tow hooks.
Moving inside, the aggressive off-road theme continues with suede front bucket seats with lateral bolster supporta, six-point harnesses, door handle pulls with ‘Release’ labels, a suede shift knob, red accent stitiching and rubber all-weather floor mats. Fiat Chrysler’s 8.4-inch Uconnect infotainment system is also present and is joined by a seven-inch TFT display in the instrument cluster.
In conclusion, the Ram Rebel TRX is a very serious pickup designed only for the most hardcore of off-roading enthusiast. If that’s you , you’ll probably think it’s a pretty hot piece of kit. If you’re not the type to get excited about pickups, you might think it’s a bit too shouty and in your face.
