A determined photographer has captured photos of the underbody of the 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Hellcat, revealing the upcoming performance SUV’s various beefed up suspension components.
The photos, captured by Truck Trend, show thicker suspension components and a thicker driveshaft, additional bracing for increased chassis rigidity and revised axleshafts. The standard Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT also features Bilstein shock absorbers, which are expected to return for the Hellcat-powered model but with different tuning.
Earlier this year Jeep brand boss Mike Manley confirmed a Hellcat-powered Grand Cherokee would arrive before the end of 2017. Rumors suggest the vehicle could be called the Grand Cherokee ‘Trackhawk’, a sort of play on words of the brand’s Trailhawk moniker. A debut at the 2016 North American International Auto Show in Detroit is expected.
