Maserati experienced a 42.5 percent spike in sales in the UAE and a 75 percent rise in Saudi Arabia in August, a spike that was in part driven by the arrival of the Maserati Levante SUV.
In addition to a significant rise in year-over-year sales for the UAE and Saudi Arabia, Maserati also experienced a 38 per cent increase in sales for the entire the Middle East, India and Africa region.
The Italian automaker also enoyed a rise in sales in Italy – its biggest European market. A total of 97 units were sold in Italy in August, representing a 273 per cent increase year-over-year. It also posted a 9 percent rise in sales across the United Kingdom, Germany, France Switzerland, Spain, Luxembourg, the Netherlands and Belgium in first eight months of 2016.
“This clearly reflects the success of the Levante, the first Maserati SUV, which has already gone on sale on a large number of markets,” Maserati said in a statement.
“The performance of the Maserati saloons – Quattroporte and Ghibli – was particularly striking in the United Kingdom, with a 52 per ent increase in sales compared to the same month of 2015; sales of the Maserati SUV are scheduled to start in this market in the last quarter.”
The sales figures are positive news for Maserati after the struggling automaker reported a 13 percent dip in sales in 2015.
