In July Ferrari pulled the wraps off of the LaFerrari Aperta, an open-top version of its hybrid hypercar that is to be limited to just 70 units. The Maranello-based automaker now appears to be gearing up to officially launch the car, with photographers catching Ferrari shooting promotional material for the car in Barcelona.
Apart from the absence of a fixed hardtop, the LaFerrari Aperta remains identical to the standard LaFerrari with a 950 horsepower powertrain consisting of a 6.3-liter V12 engine, electric motor and seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. Built to mark Ferrari’s 70th anniversary, the Aperta also wears a ‘70’ badge on the lower right rear quarter panel with the years ‘1957-2017’ displayed underneath.
The photos, taken by Spanish photographer AldoCars, show a red LaFerrari Aperta with the top removed driving through some scenic areas of Barcelona. It appears all LaFerrari Apertas will feature special contrasting pinstripes that follow the contours of the body, as the example seen here features silver stripes and the example Ferrari first showed had red stripes.
