The new Alfa Romeo Mito has launched in the UK, bringing with it more technology, updated looks, different trim packages and a new diesel engine offering.
The Mito’s front end has been updated with new front grilles, dark headlamp bezels, a revised rear bumper designed and new alloy wheels. Inside, all Mitos will benefit from improved seat upholstery, UConnect Live connected services and a new center console finish and door trim. An ‘Alfa White’ exterior paint option is also offered for the first time.
Under the Mito’s new trim structure, the entry-level ‘Progression’ model is replaced simply by ‘Mito’ trim, while the mid-range ‘Distinctive’ model is replaced by the Mito Super. The QV Line bows out to make way for the Mito Speciale, while the range-topping Mito Quadrifoglio is replaced by the Giulia Veloce.
Entry-level models include 16-inch alloy wheels, a rear-hatch spoiler, a 5-inch touch screen and more. A step up to the Mito Super adds luxuries like 17-inch wheels, cruise control, faux ‘Eco Leather’, front fog lamps and more, while the QV Line is highlighted by sporty appointments like a new rear bumper, five-hole wheels, red brake calipers and flat bottom steering wheel. The Veloce adds performance appointments such as 18-inch five-hole wheels, active suspension, Bremvo brakes and twin tailpipes.
Engine choices include a 78 horsepower 1.4-litre four-cylinder, 0.8-litre 105 horsepower two-cylinder and a new 1.3-litre 95 horsepower JTDM diesel. The Veloce comes with a 1.4-litre turbocharged four-cylinder with 168 horsepower and is offered solely with Alfa’s FPT six-speed dual-clutch transmission.
The 2016 Alfa Romeo Mito is on sale now with prices starting from £12,960
