New spy shots taken by Autocar photographers reveal the 2017 Alfa Romeo Stelvio crossover will feature a sharply raked coupe-like roofline when it debuts in 2017.
The spy shots show a pre-production Stelvio prototype missing some of the camouflage seen in previous photos. As a result you can clearly see the relatively narrow greenhouse section and a rearward sloping hatch. If you look closely, you might see a bit of Maserati Levante in its shape.
The Stelvio will ride on the same rear-wheel drive architecture as the Giulia sedan but will be all-wheel drive only. A 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine will serve as the base powerplant, while a 2.2-liter diesel will be on offer. A high-performance Quadrifoglio variant with Alfa’s 505 horsepower 2.9-liter twin-turbocharged V6 will also eventually arrive. An eight-speed automatic will be the sole transmission option.
The 2017 Alfa Romeo Stelvio wull debut sometime in early 2017, possibly at the 2017 North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
