Lego offers a couple different kits that allow you to create real-world cars. Their Technic line has a neat Porsche GT3 RS kit and you can even create a Ferrari F40 out of standard Legos. Perhaps those creations inspired Sheepo, a Lego expert that took things into his own hands to create a working Lego Jeep.
Sheepo constructed a 1/10th scale remote control Jeep Wrangler Rubicon out of Lego Technic pieces that includes a working four-wheel drive transfer case, 5 forward speeds and a reverse gear and locking differentials. The doors, hood and trunk also open, revealing the replica interior and a fake Pentastar V6 engine.
For those Jeep fans looking to do some off-roading, Sheepo also built off-road axles for the Jeep that raise the suspension and add portal hubs and a 3:1 gear reduction. All in all the kit includes 2,700 parts and weighs about six pounds including a battery. If you think you have what it takes to throw it together, Sheepo has uploaded instructions at this link.
We’re not sure if we have the patience to take such a project on, so we’ll stick to watching this awesome creation in the video above.
