The 2017 Fiat 124 Spider Abarth features a stock quad-tip performance exhaust system that gives the 1.4-liter turbocharger four-cylinder that unmistakable Abarth snarl. But what if you want the more sedate looks of the standard 124 with the unique sound of the Abarth?
The answer lies in the aftermarket. The 124 Spider is still very new, but California-based exhaust company Remus has wasted no time in releasing a cat back exhaust for the drop-top. The company offers either an axle-back system with a new tailpipe and tips or a full cat-back system that replaces the front silencer with a racing style tube.
Remus’ exhaust doesn’t sound quite as mean as the Abarth’s, but it definitely succeeds in making the standard 124 Spider a bit more vocal. It also adds 3.5 horsepower and 6.5 lb-ft of torque and is 4.6 pounds lighter than the standard exhaust. Have a listen to it in the video above, and click here for more info on the kit itself.
