Earlier this year Dodge announced a new partnership with the Bondurant School of High Performance Driving that saw the school acquire a new fleet of Vipers and Challenger and Charger Hellcats. Now, Fiat Chrysler has expanded its partnership with the school, launching the new Abarth Track Experience for Abarth owners and fans.
The Abarth experience will consist of two portions: Fiat Trackside and the optional second day Road Rally. Fiat Trackside will begin with classroom instruction followed by instructor-led skid, slalom, auto-cross and team rally cross activities in the Fiat 124 Spider Abarth and 500 Abarth, as well as hot laps. If participants opt to stick around the Road Rally, they’ll be able to take a 220-mile journey in the 124 Abarth and 500 Abarth along scenic Arizona roadways.
“We have a great relationship with Bob Bondurant, and extending our partnership is an excellent opportunity to provide Fiat fans with the knowledge, skills and setting they need to fully experience the performance that the Abarth models can deliver,” said FCA passenger car brand boss Tim Kuniskis. “The Fiat 124 Spider Abarth and 500 Abarth join the ranks of the high-performance Dodge Charger and Challenger SRT Hellcats and Viper models that are already part of Bondurant’s fleet, adding to the ‘fun-to-drive’ factor and bringing the Abarth name to a new group of performance enthusiasts.”
The Abarth Track Experience is free to buyers or lessees of new 124 Spider and 500 Abarths. Customers have one year from the time of their purchase to attend the program, with the first lessons beginning on November. If they wish to get a little bit more serious, a 124 Spider Abarth racing series will eventually kick off at Bondurant as well.
