The National Automotive History Collection has named the 2015 Dodge Viper as its ‘Collectible Vehicle of the Future” for 2016.
Each year, NAHC board members identify a car from the previous model year as a potential future collectible. The Viper has won the award four times since 2003, with the 2003, 2008 and 2013 model years having also been by recognized for their collectability.
The third-generation Dodge Viper was also included in Hagerty’s annual ‘Hot List’ of highly collectible vehicles earlier this year. At the time, Hagerty CEO McKeel Hagerty said the Viper “checks all the boxes for a future collectible,” thanks to its low volume production, race-bred pedigree and iconic styling.
2017 will be the final model year for the Dodge Viper, with production of the sportscar set to end at Fiat Chrysler’s Conner Avenue Assembly plant later this year. The series of special edition Vipers released for 2017 are all sold out, but you can still get yourself a unique Viper using Dodge’s 1 of 1 program.
