With five different ride height settings, the 2017 Maserati Levante will go from a stiff corner carver to a high-riding off-roader faster than you can say Modena, making it the perfect all-rounder for those who can only keep one car around.
Maserati’s lead development engineer, Roberto Corradi, recently climbed behind the wheel of a Levante to show us on video just how capable his new SUV is. Corradi, who appears to be quite the wheelman, begins by hammering the Levante around Maserati’s test track in Italy – even putting it up on two wheels at one point.
After a brief track session, Corradi finds a nice little path to put the Levante’s off-road skillset to the test. The SUV wades through some water, takes on some small potholes and ascends and descends a rather steep hill. It’s not the type of off-roading that will put a Jeep Wrangler to shame, but we doubt very many Levante owners will find themselves taking on rough terrain, anyway.
