The Ferrari F40 is often regarded as one of the best Ferrari road cars ever made. It’s not often they pop up for sale and if they do, it’s usually through high-end auction houses or dealerships in ritzy locations.
Recently, however, a 1990 F40 popped up for sale on Craigslist in New York. That’s right, the last supercar Enzo signed off on before his death was being sold in same place you can access ‘personal’ classified ads.
The listing has since been taken down, making us wonder if it was a legitimate ad to begin with. We can’t imagine the owner came across an eager Craigslist buyer in just a few short days, but it’s not outside the realm of possibility.
Whether it’s legit or not, this F40 is a gleaming example – especially for Craigslist. The odometer shows just 2,000 miles and the pictures show a blemish-free exterior and barely sat in cabin.
The asking price was $1.5 million, according to CarScoops, which is reasonable for a good F40. Our only question is, where’d it go?
