This morning we shared a video of Hennessey Performance Engineering’s twin-charged Dodge Challenger Hellcat, which produces 1,000 horsepower and is capable of completing the quarter-mile in 9.9 seconds at 142 mph. We thought that build was pretty outlandish, but then we laid eyes on this triple-turbo Cummins-powered Ram 1500 producing 140 PSI of boost.
This wild Ram isn’t the first built-up diesel we’ve seen making fast passes at the drag strip, but it’s definitely the most insane. Under the hood sits a 24-valve 6.3-liter Cummins six-cylinder with three turbos strapped to it, resulting in “1,800-ish” horsepower, according to the owner.
The fastest pass on the truck is a wild 9.21, but the owner says he’d one day like to break into the 8-second range. We’ll be rooting for him and his dirty diesel, but in the meantime, be sure to check out the video above and discover what just might be the fastest diesel street truck we’ve ever laid eyes on.
