Kobe Bryant appears to be spending his retirement the same way we’d one day like to: driving Ferraris.
The five-time NBA champion and two-time league MVP recently paid a visit to Ferrari in Maranello, Italy, were he tested the white-knuckle Ferrari F12 TdF on track and the all-new Ferrari GTC4Lusso on the road.
Ferrari says Bryant also “took interest in the cars’ design, manufacturing and personalization aspects, as well as in Ferrari’s history and values.” He rounded out his visit to the storied Italian automaker’s headquarters by taking a picture in front of Enzo Ferrari’s former office with the Ferrari California T and 488 GTB. A legend paid a visit to another legend, if you will.
This is far from the first time Bryant’s expressed an interest in Italy and Ferrari. He’s not only known to keep a few Ferrari’s himself (including a 458 Spider), but spent time in Italy as a child and speaks fluent Italian. Now that he’s gotten familiar with Ferrari’s new lineup, maybe he’ll replace that 458 with a shiny new 488.
