Fine scale replica makers Amalgam Fine Models have released their new Ferrari SF16-H collection, but unless you have some additional funds lying around, these probably aren’t the scale Formula 1 models for you.
To be honest, they aren’t really the type of model for anyone. The 1:8 scale SF16-H will run you $5,320, however you could always opt for the slightly less expensive $1,200.00 1:12 scale version. There’s also a 1:4 version, which, if we had to guess, infringes on the $10,000 mark.
With all due respect, the craftsmanship more than backs up the pricetag. Each model is handcrafted and utilizing CAD data created by scanning an original car in full detail and the entire collection took over 8,000 man-hours to complete.
Formual 1 drivers, engineers, team principals and others involved with the sport are known to keep an Amalgam model or two. Who knows? Maybe Maurizio Arrivabene or Sergio Marchionne will pick up one of these SF16-Hs. They’d probably like for it to win a race first, though.
