Ferrari and AF Corse led the GTE Pro class today’s Free Practice session for the 84th running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, James Calado lapping the 2.655-mile Circuit de la Sarthe in 3:53.833.
The title of second quickest was also taken by a Ferrari, with the No. 82 Risi Competizione Ferrari 488 GTE of Matteo Malucelli turning in a lap of 3:54.180. The No. 68 Ford Chip Ganassi Racing Ford GT of Dirk Mueller completed the top three with a time of 3:54.893.
The session was red flagged after Stephane Sarrazin went off at Indianapolis corner in the No. 6 Toyota TS050 LMP1. At the same time, the No. 28 Pegasus Morgan LMP2 of Ines Taittinger crashed at the Porsche Curves.
GTE Am was also led by a Ferrari, with AF Corse-Clearwater Racing’s Rob Bell posting a lap of 3:57.543 in the No. 61 Ferrari 458 GTE. The No. 62 Scuderia Corsa Ferrari 458 was second fastest, while the AF Corse’s No. 83 458 Italia was third quick.
