Last month Fiat Chrysler announced the wildly successful ‘Roadkill Nights powered by Dodge’ drag racing event, which celebrated its inauguration last year, would return for summer 2016.
Now FCA and Dodge have released more details on Roadkill’s second-ever stop in Michigan. This year, Roadkill Nights will be hosted at the new M1 Concourse motorsports complex in Pontiac, Michigan, rather than in parking lot of the Pontiac Silverdome like last year.
Another change is where the drivers will be racing. In 2015, the Silverdome’s parking lot was turned into a makeshift dragstrip, but this time around participants will have the opportunity to race down Woodward Avenue – and it’s all perfectly legal.
“This event is uniquely Roadkill,” said Roadkill host David Freiburger. “We are racing in a spot no one else would dare to run all in the name of fun. Show up and you’ll see Roadkill cars, come and spend time with us and have the time of your life.”
Roadkill Nights will kick off on August 19th at 10 p.m. as part of Pontiac and the Metro Detroit area’s Woodward Dream Cruise festivities. Attendees can enjoy thrill rides in a Dodge Viper ACR and Challenger and Charger SRT Hellcats, along with other attractions such as music, food vendors, a car show and more.
Due to the popularity of last year’s event, those who’d like to participate in the racing are encouraged to sign up early. Follow this link to put your name down and we’ll see you in August, fellow Mopar fans.
