Garage Italia Customs, owned and operated by Gianni Agenlli’s grandson Lapo Elkann, has teamed up with Diesel brand founder Renzo Rosso to create a special Diesel-branded Fiat 500.
The vehicle, dubbed the Fiat 555R, is based off the standard Fiat 500 Convertible and features shiny black paintwork with silver glitter laid into it. Continuing the custom look are Swarovski crystal-framed taillight and headlights along with red details on the grille, alloy wheels and front bumper.
Inside, Garage Italia looked to make the 500 look similar to a Diesel suit, applying black lozenge-patterned Foglizzo leather over the front of the seats along with black denim on the sides. Black denim is also used on the door panels, arm rests and gear level cover, while the lozenge-patterned leather continues on the headliner.
“Renzo Rosso and I are good friends and we’ve worked on various business projects in recent years,” Elkann said. “To be able to produce a car for him was a pleasure, an honour, and above all a great satisfaction. This particular project brought together two Italian specialists: Diesel in fashion and Garage Italia Customs in car customization. I’m proud of the result achieved by my Maestros, who were able to create a car that’s a perfect synthesis of Diesel’s style and rock spirit, exactly what Renzo asked me for.”
