In March, Abarth took the wraps off the updated version of its Abarth 595 – the performance version of the Fiat 500 city car. The changes included an aggressively restyled front end, a redesigned rear bumper and taillights and a new infotainment system, to name a few.
So have these changes improved the scrappy little 595? In order to find out, the UK’s AutoExpress got its hands on a 595 Competizione, which boosts output of the 595’s 1.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine from 143 horsepower to 180. The model also comes standard with Abarth’s ‘Record Monza’ exhaust system, improving the sound and look of the punchy runabout.
Check out AutoExpress’ short review of the 595 Competizione embedded above. It’s not the highly anticipated review of the 124 Abarth we know you’ve been waiting for, but it should quench your thirst for all things Abarth for the time being.
