Dodge has announced a partnership with the M1 Concourse motorsports park being built in Pontiac, Michigan that will see the Dodge Viper ACR serve as the official pace car of the facility.
M1 Concourse is intended to serve as a hub and meeting place for car enthusiasts in the Metro Detroit area and will include both a 2.5 acre skidpad and a 1.5-mile road course. The grounds will also include a community of private garages capable of housing more than 1,000 cars.
Dodge’s sponsorship of M1 Concourse will also see the several Viper GTS, Dodge Challenger Hellcat and Dodge Charger Hellcat vehicles join the M1 Performance fleet. The vehicles will be accessible to members of the M1 Motorsports Club and will be used in driving schools and exhibited at various M1 Concourse events.
“M1 is a community for car enthusiasts,” said FCA passenger car brand boss Tim Kuniskis. “As enthusiasts ourselves, Dodge feels this is the perfect place to give passionate car buffs a chance to drive our ultimate performance vehicles – the Dodge Viper and the 707-horsepower Dodge Challenger and Chargers. And it makes perfect sense for the ultimate street-legal track car – the Dodge Viper ACR – to be M1’s Official Pace Car.”
“We are thrilled to have Dodge as our first official fleet partner at M1 Concourse,” added M1 Concours CEO Oleshansky. “The vehicles Dodge is providing reflect the essence of the Detroit car culture and our club members and visitors will experience them in the perfect environment, where their full capabilities can be safely enjoyed.”
