For the 1998 model year, Dodge introduced the Viper GTS-R GT2 — a road-going variant of the Phase II Viper that celebrated the model’s 1997 FIA GT2 World Championship win. All 1998 Viper GTS-R GT2s were painted white with blue racing stripes to mimic the Oreca racing team’s Vipers, and featured other enhancements such as BBS wheels and an aerodynamics package.
The spirit of the 1998 the Viper GTS-R GT2 lives on in the recently-unveiled 2017 Dodge Viper GTS-R Commemorative Edition ACR. Essentially a modern-day take on the original, the 2017 Viper GTS-R Commemorative Edition ACR features white paint and blue racing stripes, U.S. flag B-pillar decals, a red Stryker Viper badge and red interior accent stitching and red seatbelts.
The limited-run supercar also comes standard with the Viper ACR’s extreme aero kit, which adds the huge carbon fiber rear wing, a carbon fiber rear diffuser, front dive planes, an SRT hood with removable louvers, removable fender vents and a front splitter extension. A carbon ceramic brake kit is also standard.
Just 100 units of the 2017 Dodge Viper GTS-R Commemorative Edition ACR will be made.
