Last year, the 2016 Dodge Viper ACR broke the production car lap record at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca with a lightning-quick time of 1:28.65. To put that in perspective, the $847,000, 887 horsepower Porsche 918 Spyder lapped Laguna Seca in 1:29.89, while the $1.15 million, 903 horsepower McLaren P1 did the dance in 1:30.71.
That’s certainly a feat worth celebrating, which is why Dodge has introduced the 2017 Dodge Viper 1:28 Edition ACR. The special-edition supercar is based on the standard Viper ACR, but features an exclusive black and red paint scheme with ‘1:28’ exterior badging, a serialized instrument panel, a 1:28 Edition badge and a custom car cover.
Additionally, the Viper 1:28 Edition ACR comes standard with the ACR’s Extreme Aero package, which adds a huge carbon fiber rear wing, rear carbon fiber diffuser, unique SRT hood with removable louvers, detachable front splitter and front dive planes, and a carbon ceramic brake kit.
Those interested in the Viper 1:28 Edition ACR better act fast and head down to their Dodge dealer, as just 28 examples will be made.
