According to off-road tour company Barlow Adventures, Jeep asked consumers a series of questions during a Q&A session at the Overland expo, including how they’d feel if they were to omit a manual option in the next-gen Wrangler.
“How do you feel about no manual transmission option? Would you be interested in a 3-spd transfer case? Are you okay with not having a windshield that folds down? What about a hybrid power plant option? How much towing capacity and payload should the 4-door have?”
The new Wrangler will utilize FCA’s eight-speed ZF automatic transmission, which will be paired to the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, Pentastar 3.6-liter V6 and 3.0-liter VM Motori diesel V6. Jeep has so far made no mention of a manual, and considering the low take rate, we wouldn’t be surprised to see it die off the Wrangler.
