Ferrari CEO Sergio Marchionne has already confirmed the LaFerrari Spider is inbound, however chef Gordon Ramsay and Chris Evans discussed the model further on the first episode of Evans’ take on the British automotive show.
As Road & Track reports, Evans’ take on Top Gear features a similar celebrity interview segment to Jeremy Clarkson’s, with the first episode featuring Ramsay as the guest. Both Evans and Ramsay are noted Ferrari collectors and discussed the forthcoming LaFerrari spider, with Ramsay pulling out a Ferrari-branded box containing a key to the car. According to Ramsay, only 150 LaFerrari spiders will be built.
This isn’t the first time we’ve seen the special Ferrari box and key combo in reference to the LaFerrari spider, with photos of both surfacing online in March. The targa top supercar is expected to be mechanically identical to the fixed roof variant, featuring the same 6.3-liter V12 engine and electric motor for a combined output of 950 horsepower.
According to an Autocar source, the LaFerrari Spider will cost at least €3.5 million ($3.9 million).
