Jeep is celebrating its 75th Anniversary in 2016 and has marked the occasion with an entire lineup of 75th Anniversary edition models, but that’s not the only way the storied automaker is celebrating the milestone. The city of Toledo, Ohio has teamed up with Fiat Chrysler to host Toledo Jeep Fest, a one-day celebration of all things Jeep.
The Toledo Jeep Fest will play host to a parade with support from the U.S. military, indoor and outdoor car shows, historic Jeep-themed displays, live bands and food vendors. The event will be free of charge and is supported by the UAW Local 12 and FCA themselves.
The day-long celebration is expected attract several thousand attendees and Jeep enthusiasts from all over America, according to The Detroit Free Press. UAW Local 12 members who build the Jeep Wranglers and Jeep Cherokees at FCA’s Toledo plant will also be in attendance, of course, celebrating the vehicle and brand that has supported their city since 1941.
“We wanted to honor our past,” Bruce Baumhower, president of UAW Local 12, told The Free Press. “The event will have a heavy military presence. The Air Force, Army, Navy and Marines will lead the parade.”
The Toledo Jeep Fest event will be held at the SeaGate Convention Centre in Toledo, OH on August 13th, 2016.
