Many automotive awards address true consumer interests, like Kelley Blue Book’s Best Resale Value awards, or J.D. Power’s Vehicle Dependability Study. However today we’re pleased to announce a much less relevant award Fiat has won: Most Clowns Fit In A Car.
Fiat managed to jam 22 clowns in a 2016 Fiat 500, netting them the 2016 Most Clowns Fit In A Car award. The award, overseen by professional clowns from the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Clown College, is only open to other A-segment vehicles that the clowns decide they might want to stuff themselves into.
“We’re not really sure what to think of this award,” said Fiat Chrysler’s head of passenger vehicles, Tim Kuniskisiskiskiskis. “But we accept any accolade with open arms and we suppose this speaks not only to the flexibility of those clowns, but to the surprisingly roomy interior of the 2016 Fiat 500.”
“The Fiat 500 is small enough to pass as a clown car, but large enough to fit 22 of us in it,” said Coco The Clown of Ringling Bros. “Me and 15 of my closest clown friends are taking one down to Fort Lauderdale for the weekend, and compared to our old car, we’re in for one roomy ride.”
Fiat advises against putting 22 people in any vehicle from its 500 lineup, including the extra-spacious 500L. Point being is that even though the record was achieved, no less than two clowns suffered multiple injuries from bodily contortion. But, hey! A record is a record.
