It must be custom Jeep day here at FC Authority, because hot on the tail of the wild Hendrick Dynamics Jeep Wrangler Commando we shared today is the Jeep Wrangler ‘Bandit’ pickup, which is the brainchild of Texas-based Jeep specialists Starwood Customs.
The most obvious change Starwood applied to the Wrangler in building the Bandit was the addition of the pickup truck bed. According to Boldride, the customizations shop had to tack an extra 48-inches onto the Wrangler’s frame in order to accommodate the bed. There’s no word on the length of the bed, however it looks to be a good 6- to 6.5 feet long.
This wouldn’t be a custom Jeep build if Starwood didn’t upgrade the suspension. The Bandit rides atop TeraFlex long-arm adjustable suspension and also features Synergy Suspension shocks with Fox Racing reservoirs, Currie Anti Rock sway bars and 9” Ford floating axles. Huge 22-inch Moto Metal wheels have also been applied, which are shod in 40-inch Nitto off-road rubber.
Other cosmetic upgrades include Fab Fours front and rear bumpers, Angel Eye LED headlights, Recon smoked LED taillights and special Military Tan paint infused with DuPont Kevlar fibers for additional resilience. Inside occupants will be greeted with Nappa leather seating and a full audio system with a custom subwoofer and speaker enclosure.
The Bandit’s party piece is its 7.0-liter HEMI V8, which has been graced with a supercharger and produces a claimed 700 horsepower. The burly powerplant is linked up to a five-speed automatic transmission that sends power to all four wheels, of course.
