The Abarth 124 Spider was unveiled at the 2016 Geneva International Motor Show yesterday, joining the several Abarth variations of the Fiat 50 in the brand’s European portfolio.
Only certain industry members and press were invited to the press conference for the Abarth 124 Spider, so members of the public were unable to hear what the company had to say about he car prior to its debut. Luckily Fiat Chrysler has uploaded a video of the conference to their YouTube channel, allowing us to view the short presentation from home.
With a 170 horsepower version of Fiat’s 1.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, looks inspired by the original Abarth 124 Rally and a six-speed manual transmission, the Abarth 124 has all the right ingredients to become and enthusiast-favorite when it debuts. In the meantime, check out the debut of the car in the video above, complete a sample of its raspy exhaust note.
