Modern day cars have all sorts of safety systems that work to help prevent accidents and keep the driver safe, like lane departure warning and front collision warning, for example. However the Dodge Challenger Hellcat’s ‘Valet Mode’ is the type of safety system that works to save your car from falling victim to a careless valet rather than saving you or another driver from crashing it.
The best way to avoid having your car driven by a couple of teenage yahoos is to not valet it, but sometimes that isn’t always an option, so for those times there’s Valet Mode. To activate it, the driver simply enters a 4-digit passcode on the touch screen, which then cuts the power of 707 horsepower muscle car and sets the rev-limit at 4,000 RPM.
One Challenger Hellcat owner learned the wondrous benefit of Valet Mode when he handed over the keys to the muscle car to the valets at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida. With a dash cam rolling, the valets hop in the car and promptly insult the guy for enabling Valet mode and ruining their fun. They then cruise around the parking lot a bit more before finally admitting defeat and parking the car.
Check it out in the video above. The Hellcat owner is a good guy for blurring out these valet’s faces, because if it were our car, we’d be calling for these guys’ jobs.
