Automotive publicaiton The Fast Lane Truck, which is viewed by nearly 2.5 million truck buyers monthly, has named the 2016 Ram Power Wagon its ‘Best Off-road Truck’ in its annual ‘Gold Hitch’ awards.
The Ram Power Wagon was tested by TFL Truck journalists through “narrow goat trails in the Colorado mountains,” that offered a range of terrain surfaces including loose gravel, rocks and snow. The truck’s on-road performance was also tested as part of the judging process.
“The Ram Power Wagon clawed up TFLtruck’s real world Gold Mine Hill off-road test like a natural-born athlete, showing extreme poise and grace that belies the truck’s Heavy Duty chassis,” Roman Mica, Chief Editor at TFLtruck, said in a statement. “The Ram Power Wagon is this year’s ultimate king of the Colorado Mountains.”
Trucks eligible for TFL Truck’s Gold Hitch award include all 2016 model year and from 2015 that have not been significantly changed for 2016. The 2016 Power Wagon is not to be confused with the new 2017 model, which was introduced at the Chicago auto show in February and boasts aggressive new looks and an updated interior.
