One of Fiat Chrysler’s many major product debuts at the 2016 Geneva International Motor Show was the Abarth 124 Spider, which is the Abarth Racing team’s take on the ND Mazda Miata-based Fiat 124 Spider. It features a 170 horsepower 1.4-liter four-cylinder engine, a six-speed manual transmission and most importantly, one of the most memorable exhaust notes on the market.
Unfortunately, the Abarth 124 Spider won’t be in showrooms until later this year, so we’ll have to rely on Abarth to provide us with 124 Spider footage until then. They’ve gotten to work early, however, uploading the launch video of the Abarth 124 Spider to their YouTube channel, allowing us to both hear and see the car in action.
So if photos of the Abarth 124 Spider just aren’t cutting it, check out the video above to further familiarize yourself with the Italian roadster before it arrives in European showrooms this September. It’s still not clear if the model will launch in North America, however, so if you’re not European this video may only serve as an unpleasant reminder of a car you’ll never get.
