Earlier this month Dodge announced it would revive the storied ‘Go Mango’ hue for the 2016 Dodge Challenger and Charger SRT, which was first introduced on the 1970 Challenger. Now, following strong demand for the color, Dodge has decided to expand the color across the entire Challenger and Charger range.
“We’ve seen a tremendous response from our customers after we announced the return of Go Mango at the 11th annual Spring Festival in California. In fact, nearly half of all SRT and Hellcat orders are for Go Mango,” said Fiat Chrysler’s passenger car boss Tim Kuniskis. “To meet consumer demand, we plan to expand this modernized heritage color to the entire Charger and Challenger lineup later this spring.”
After a limited production run in 2006 on certain Charger R/T Daytona models, Go Mango was revived for the 2016 Dodge Dart. Now, muscle car enthusiasts can have the color on their Challenger or Charger as a nod to the golden era of muscle cars without having to splurge for the SRT 392 or Hellcat models.
Both a 2016 Dodge Challenger SXT and Charger SXT painted in GoMango are on display at the 2016 New York International Auto Show this week.
