Eight times out of ten, Italian coachbuilding companies manage to improve upon the cars in which they’ve based their design study on. We’re not sure the builders of this Ferrari 412 Pavesi Ventorosso, Carrozzeria Pavesi, have really hit their mark in that regard, but we get the feeling we like their creation a bit more than most people.
Autoblog turned us onto this rather obscure Ferrari, which is for sale by Maranello Service in Calvatone, Italy. It’s officially called the Ferrari 412 ‘Pavesi Ventorosso’ and quite simply, it looks like a more futuristic 412. We don’t mind most of the alterations until you get out back, where the design goes from rather cohesive to a jumbled mess of the 412 and the unabashedly ‘80s 512.
The good news here is the 5.0-liter Colombo V12 is mated to a five-speed manual gearbox and has turned just 18,641 miles. The car is also said to be in perfect condition inside and out, however at $137,000, its price tag reflects in condition. There are other Ferraris we’d rather pick up for that price, but surely someone in Italy will be a fan of this off-the wall Prancing Horse.
