A Fiat 500L Lounge hatchback that Pope Francis travelled in during his visit to New York City last year is currently up for auction by Charitybuzz, with bidding sitting at $69,999 at the time of writing.
Earlier this year, a separate Fiat 500L that was used to shuffle the Pontiff around during the same trip was auctioned and sold for $82,000. This 500L Lounge was also confirmed to have been used by Pope Francis by the Secret Service and will come with a letter from the Archdiocese of New York to back its holy status up.
Most recently the 500L Lounge was driven by Monsignor Robert Ritchie, the rector of St. Patrick’s Cathedral in NYC, to the cathedral where it was looked over by Cardinal Timothy Dolan prior to participating in the 2016 New York St. Patrick’s Day Parade. The winning bidder of the vehicle will have the opportunity to meet with Cardinal Dolan following the sale, who will bless the vehicle before sending it on its way.
