Sometimes you’ll hear car enthusiasts spout the “built not bought,” line as a way of putting down other enthusiasts who may have purchased a fast car rather than building their own. It’s a tired statement, but in the case of this V8 twin-turbocharged Jeep Willys, the owner has true justification for bragging about the machine he’s created.
This engine for this CJ45 WIllys Jeep was pulled from the junkyard and dropped in the front of it, while the chassis for the car was made my the owner himself. A couple of turbochargers, a turbo 400 transmission and a rollcage later and he was left with a 660 horsepower V8 weapon capable of completing a quarter-mile pass in just over 10-seconds and embarrassing the mighty Dodge Challenger Hellcat.
We love this build due to the clear amount of the time and effort the owner put into it. It was truly a ground-up project, so it’s hard not to respect the owner’s ambition. Give him the recognition he eserves by watching his Jeep kick ass and take names at the local dragstrip in the video above.
