The majority of Ferraris that get attention on the internet are wonderfully kept, in mint condition and extremely desirable. This Ferrari 365 2+2 is in awful condition, looks as though no one has ever loved it and is one of the more forgettable Ferraris to ever leave Maranello, but that doesn’t mean we don’t think it’s cool.
The car, which was found for sale by Jalopnik at the eccentric Gullwing Motor Cars, in Astoria, Queens, isn’t the bargain basement deal you might think it is based on outward appearances. Despite the fact that it’s primer gray, missing the majority of its interior trim pieces and also missing several major exterior parts, Gullwing still wants $59,000 for it. It seems you can’t escape that Ferrari resale value, no matter what shape the car is in.
Gullwing describes this numbers-matching 365 2+2 as “an excellent car for straightforward restoration,” but if we were to buy it, we probably wouldn’t take that route. We might clean up the interior and fix some of the bodywork, but we love the ratty, don’t-give-a-damn appearance the bare, primer gray body and yellow wheels give the car.
