We imagine buying your first Ferrari is a magical experience. Even if you’ve owned other sportscars, there’s nothing quite like a Ferrari. But don’t take our word for it, take it from Hagerty’s Brad Phillips, who recently purchased his first-ever prancing horse: an exquisite 1983 Ferrari 308 GTS.
Phillips, who also owns an Jaguar E-Type and Sunbeam Tiger, caught up with Hagerty following the purchase of his 308 to make a short video documenting the car and his experience with it so far. His 308 is a silver example with the optional black ‘boxer bottom’ sourced from the 512 BB, making it a rather rare bird in world of 308s.
Take a ride with Phillips in his 308 in the video above. He’s able to relay what the driving experience is like fairly well, commenting on the seating position, handling, power and overall condition of the car. It’s probably about as close to driving a 308 GTS as you or I will get, or at least one that’s been cared for so meticulously.
