The Ferrari 488 GT3 will make its IMSA WeatherTech Championship debut next month at the 12 Hours of Sebring, with Scuderia Corsa taking delivery of their 488 GT3 in Maranello, Italy this week, Sportscar365 reports.
Scuderia Corsa celebrated the competition debut of the similar Ferrari 488 GTE at the 24 Hours of Daytona last month, where they narrowly missed the podium after finishing fourth in GTLM. The team will compete in the slightly less quick GT Daytona class at Sebring next month with their new 488, which replaces the 458 Italia GT3.
The team announced on Facebook this week they were getting ready for the debut of the 488 GT3 at Sebring with some test laps at Ferrari’s Fiorano circuit near Maranello, Italy. Team driver Alessandro Pier Guidi, who is apart of the team’s GTLM effort, was on hand to complete the shakedown runs and provide feedback to Ferrari and the team.
Scuderia Corsa announced last year it would compete in GTD this year with drivers Christina Nielsen, Alessandro Balzan, Jeff Segal and Robert Renauer. The team is also competing in the Tequila Patron North American Endurance Racing Cup in GTLM this year with Pier Guidi, Alexadre Premat and Daniel Serra.
