Scuderia Corsa pulled out a strong fourth place finish in GTLM in the 2016 Rolex 24 at Daytona – the first-ever competition outing for the all-new Ferrari 488 GTE racecar.
The No. 68 Ferrari 488 GT3 of Scuderia Corsa was driven by Alessandro Pier Guidi, Alexandre Premat, Memo Rojas and Daniel Serra in the 54th running of the Daytona 24H. It finished fourth after falling several laps down in the early stages of the race due to being handed down a pit lane penalty, making it the highest finishing Ferrari Sunday.
Scuderia Corsa’s No. 68 entry was one of three Ferrari 488 GT3s entered in this year’s edition of the endurance special. Risi Competizione and their No. 62 Ferrari 488 finished sixth in GTLM, but looked poised for a stronger finish before making contact with another car. SMP Racing’s No. 72 488 also led the race at one point but unfortunately had to be retired in the 19th hour.
The next race of the IMSA SportsCar Championship, the 12 Hours of Sebring, will kick off on March 16th at Sebring International Raceway in Sebring, Florida.
