You now have the chance to travel like the Rocketman himself thanks to Classic Car Auctions, which will auction off a 2005 Maserati Quattroporte V that was ordered new by Sir Elton John at its March 2016 sale.
Because it was destined to go to Elton John, this Quattroporte features a host of options that you might not see on other versions of the four-door sedan. Among these is a rear-seat entertainment system comprising of a rear DVD player and screen, games input, two headphones, remote control and six CD changer. The Maserati welcome letter, an unused personal 24hr concierge members card, a tool kit, gloves and car cover are also included in the sale.
Potentially the best part about this sale is it’s a rather good deal. There’s not the usual price premium that sometimes comes with cars formerly owned by big-name celebrities, with the car estimated to sell for between £15,000 and £17,000. It’s also been treated rather lightly, showing almost no signs of aging with 28,000 miles on the odometer.
