John Davis’ program ‘MotorWeek’ has been on the air since 1981, which means the program has seen every iteration of the iconic Dodge Viper come and go. The show has tested the original 1993 Viper, 1998 Viper GTS-R, 2001 Viper, 2010 SRT10 and 2014 Viper T/A/, among others, which sets Davis up well to give his opinion on the new 2016 Dodge Viper ACR.
The Viper ACR is Dodge’s racecar for the road, and MotorWeek wastes no time putting its competition qualities to the test. After adjusting the ACR’s suspension, splitter, rear wing and tire pressure, Davis sets out to complete some laps and do some acceleration tests. He later drives the ACR briefly on the road, but as you might expect, the ACR is much more enjoyable on the track.
Check out the review in the video above. It’s far from the first review of the 2016 Dodge Viper ACR we’ve seen, but there’s truly no substitute for the opinion of a seasoned automotive journalism veteran like Davis.
