Jeep reminded nearly every household in America last night that it’s celebrating its 75th anniversary in 2016, airing two commercials during the live broadcast of Super Bowl 50.
The two ad spots were intended to pay tribute to Jeep’s legacy and also look ahead to its future. The first commercial, titled ‘Portraits’, recognizes the many people, faces and moments that helped shape the Jeep brand since its inception in 1941. The final screen displays the text: ‘We don’t make Jeep, you do’, recognizing the loyal following of Jeep owners and drivers that helped shape the brand into what it is today.
The second spot, entitled ‘4x4ever’, is meant to bring together the current community of Jeep owners and brand followers “who blaze the trails of the Rubicon and Moab,” and live “a life without boundaries.” The ad, which features music created specifically for Jeep by artist Morgan Dorr, is described as the cornerstone of Jeep and is meant to convey what driving one its vehicles is all about.
