Hennessey Performance Engineering rose to fame by slapping turbochargers on the Dodge Viper, but over the years they’ve gone from a Mopar –focused tuning company to building LS motors almost exclusively. We’re happy to say the Texas-based outfit is back making mean Mopars, applying their expertise to the Charger and Challenger Hellcat twins.
We featured the HPE850 Challenger Hellcat back in January, however we only saw the car complete a few dyno pulls in order to prove it’s really putting down the power Hennesey claims. Now the company has taken it out on its makeshift racetrack at its headquarters, doing a few burnouts and hard pulls for the camera.
All it takes to bump the output of the Challenger Hellcat’s 707 horsepower 6.2-liter supercharged V8 from to 850 horsepower is a new ECU, a high flow air filter, a lower pulley upgrade and a port matched throttle body along with some tuning.
