The 2017 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid, which debuted earlier this year at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, offers up to 30 miles of all-electric driving range. That should be enough electric range for most consumers, but perhaps not enough for the van buyer that wants a full-electric driving experience.
Chrysler may be planning to also cover that base too, with Left Lane News photographers recently catching a Pacifica prototype testing with a mysterious ‘EV’ stamp on its tailgate. It’s not clear if a prototype for the Pacifica hybrid would wear a similar stamp, however we can’t recall seeing it on a Pacifca hybrid prototype ever before.
LLN points out that they saw a similar ‘EV’ stamp on a prototype version of the Fiat 500e, leading them to believe this could be an all-electric Pacifica. If it does indeed turn out to be a battery-powered variant, it’s possible it could be only for markets that buy up many EVs such as California, Oregon or British Columbia, Canada, for example.
